Basic Steps to Get Your Private Pilot License

  1. Meet with your new instructor.
  2. Check out the equipment.
  3. Ensure that you are compatible with the instructor, equipment and school.
  4. Take your first flight.
  5. Discuss that flight with your instructor and determine what materials are needed.
  6. Schedule the next session and study suggested material before that flight.
  7. Continue Steps 4 through 6 until all requirements including:
    • Obtaining Student Pilot Certificate
    • Passing FAA Written Exam
    • and all required flight experience and knowledge is obtained and properly logged.
    • Prepare for and take the Practical Check Exam.
  8. Successful completion then gains your Private Pilot Certificate.
